Community and Governance

We certainly want existing organizations to participate in the Matsuri Foundation, and we also encourage newly emerging groups to join.

In doing so, even if the Matsuri Foundation exercises strong leadership, sustainable operation is impossible if it becomes overly authoritarian or self-righteous. Therefore, we have planned a gradual transition to community-led governance.

Realization of DAO

Our ideal is a state where organizations and individual members participating in Matsuri spontaneously host events, leading to a continuously exciting state for Matsuri in a decentralized and autonomous manner. Ultimately, we aim for a state where Matsuri members are hosting events somewhere in the world, 365 days a year. What is necessary for this is providing a place where everyone can gather, regardless of whether it's real or web-based. The Matsuri Foundation calls this place a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).

Matsuri Community

The Discord community, which operated under the name "COT Project Community" until Apr 2025, has been renamed Matsuri Community. Since the destinations of COT and Matsuri are the same, the former COT Discord has been revamped and will be utilized as the communication hub for Matsuri DAO. This will be the main gathering place for planning and executing various events. Please note that the primary language on Discord at this time is English.
